Textile Recycling and Reusing

Upcoming Textile Drop-off Event

Goal: Through textile recycling, people can drop off their unwanted clothing, linens, and other items (new or used), so they can be properly recycled and donated to support local shelters and refugee organizations, instead of ending up in landfills. 

 

Date: January 17 to January 24, 2026

LOCATIONS:

Bring your clothing in plastic bags to be dropped off at any of these locations at the specified times:

  • Washington West, in the lobby

    Address: 2500 Mowry Ave, Fremont, CA 94538

     -   Monday-Friday: 8 AM to 5 PM

 

  • Fremont Development Services Center, in the lobby

    Address: 39550 Liberty St, Fremont, CA 94538

     -   Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM and 1:00–3:30 PM
         Friday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

     -   Closed on Martin Luther Day

 

  • Milk and Honey Cafe

    Address: 34265 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94555

     -   Tuesday-Sunday: 11 AM to 9 PM

ACCEPTED NEW/USED ITEMS:

  • Clothing  (shirts, pants, jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, suits, coats, jackets, gloves, hats, scarves, bras, underwear, slips, camisoles, tights)

  • Footwear (shoes, sandals, boots, heels, sneakers)

  • Household linens (sheets, towels, comforters, blankets, tablecloths)

  • Accessories (belts, ties, headbands, handbags, wallets)

  • Bags and soft items (totes, backpacks, stuffed animals)

 

UNACCEPTED ITEMS:

  • Wet, moldy, or chemically contaminated textiles

  • Mattresses, furniture, or other oversized items

  • Pillows and cushions

  • Fabric or fabric scraps

  • Bio-hazardous waste
