About Us

This Textile Recycling and Reusing Project was an initiative that began with the ultimate goal of reducing textile waste. As environmental enthusiasts, we hope for a greener planet and a more sustainable future. To achieve this goal, we partner with organizations to schedule clothing drives and swap events, as well as pickups and donations, to reuse and provide clothing to those in need, including homeless shelters.

My Story

This project was started by a high school student. Like many high schoolers, I care about my appearance, especially the clothes I wear. Additionally, as a high school student, I've been friends with several people who often engage in social media clothing trends, buying new clothing every week, and rarely wearing old ones. In the past, I would also similarly throw away clothing after a few wears simply because it wasn't in "style." However, when I learned about the devastating environmental impacts of textile waste, and how popular brands like Shein, H&M, and Forever 21 contribute to it, I was inspired to begin this passion project and explore ways to promote sustainable fashion choices. I believe that one person's trash can be another's treasure; instead of discarding clothes so easily, we can pass them on to someone who truly needs them.
